You Might Be Thinking About Your Dream All Wrong

I'm always encouraging my listeners to think beyond the traditional definition of a "dream." So often, we've been conditioned to equate our dream with a specific career path or job title. But I'm here to tell you that your dream is so much bigger than that. Our dream is really about how we want to live our lives on a daily basis - the feelings, flexibility, and freedom we desire. It's about the impact we want to make and the people we want to spend our time with. You see, when I first became a teacher, I thought that was my dream.

I had visions of standing in front of a classroom, inspiring my students each day. But after a few years, I found myself looking around at lunchtime, wondering, "Is this it? Is this how I'm going to live out my every day?"

That was a pivotal moment for me. I realized my dream wasn't confined to a career - it was about creating a life that truly fulfilled me. That's when I started my first business, which gave me the flexibility and control over my time and finances that I craved. Of course, as my life has evolved through marriage and motherhood, my dream has continued to shift. The recent decision to move my family from Arizona to Idaho is another example of aligning our lifestyle with our vision for the future.

The key is understanding that our dreams are not static. They evolve as we grow and go through different seasons of life. The important thing is to regularly reflect on how you want to feel and live your day-to-day, not just what job title you want. So I encourage you to get clear on your dream by asking yourself these three questions:

01. WHAT DOES YOUR PERFECT DAY LOOK LIKE?

02. WHO ARE YOU SPENDING IT WITH?

03. WHAT KIND OF FLEXIBILITY AND FREEDOM DO YOU HAVE?

Then, consider what "vehicle" or path can get you closer to that vision, even if it's not what you originally envisioned. Whether that's becoming a virtual assistant, starting a service-based business, or making a big life change like moving to a new state, the goal is to relentlessly pursue a life you love!

As you set goals for the new year and beyond, I challenge you to think beyond just career aspirations. Reconnect with your deeper dream for how you want to live. Your dream is out there waiting for you. It's time to go after it, one intentional step at a time.
